HOA DUES
Our dues cover all of the common expenses of our community including roadway paving, maintenance, and snowplowing; front entrance landscaping; mailbox, fencing, and lighting maintenance; electric utility service, accounting, banking, legal, and insurance. HOA dues are billed quarterly. Payment options are listed on the invoice. If you have not received a statement please contact us.
MUNICIPAL SERVICES
Governed by the Town of Chester, NY, the Estates at Brookview is served by the Town of Chester Fire Department, Town of Chester Police, EMS (dial 911), Monroe-Woodbury School District, and Monroe, NY post office. Although our community is private, our properties are subject to all of the rules and regulations of the Town of Chester. Please check with them if you are considering any renovations, additions, or other improvements to your property as a Building Permit is usually required. The town also provides weekly trash removal. Pickup is generally on Thursdays unless there is a major holiday. In that case pickup is moved to Friday. Place trash and recycling containers alongside the road by 6AM and remove them as soon as possible after pickup. See more information at the Town of Chester website.
PETS
The Town of Chester, on behalf of NY State, requires all dogs to be registered. See more info at the Town of Chester website. Please be careful if you leave your pets outside. Aside from the deer, our forest area is home to bears, foxes, raccoons, opossums, snakes, and other wild animals that are potentially dangerous to pets and people. Hawks are also a potential threat to small pets.
SHORT TERM RENTALS
A large majority of our homeowners are opposed to short term rentals and our attorney has advised us that any commercial use of our properties is not permitted and could jeopardize our HOA’s status as a non-profit organization. To date, the HOA has not granted any permission for short term rentals.
